Mission Statement - Adopted, October 1988

The Mission of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League is to assist each woman of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.

They will soar on wings like eagles…

-Isaiah 40:31

WinGS (Women in God’s Service) meets on the first Thursday morning of each month (September to June); membership is open to any woman over the age of eighteen who desires a relationship with Christian women.  At the meetings, WinGS regularly has devotions and programs of current interest that include book reviews, inspirational speakers, educational presentations, and entertaining guests.

Each month “Mites” are collected and sent to LWML for use in International and Texas District mission projects.  These mites represent God’s power to multiply small amounts to accomplish large tasks to reach many with the Gospel.

 We have the opportunity within our church and city community to continue many service projects:

  • telephone and e-mail prayer chain
  • providing and serving refreshments for Hall funeral receptions
  • delivering altar flowers to hospital patients or home convalescents
  • coordinating communion table set up and caring for  linens
  • arranging poinsettias in the sanctuary and decorating a Chrisman tree in the Narthex
  • baking and delivering Christmas cookies to the homebound
  • purchasing palms and making palm cross lapel pins with the school's 8th grade class for Palm Sunday
  • highlighting the specific Gospel message passages in Bibles and giving them away locally, to many people new to the Gospel truth (2006-07);
  • sewing colorful lap quilts and providing them to hospital patients (specifically in M. D. Anderson Cancer Center) and convalescents (2006-07);
  • providing a monetary gift of support to a Seminary student (2006-07);
  • decorating and giving a small Christmas tree to a homebound person (2006-07).
                      With God’s presence, we will joyfully serve God, each other, and our World community.
