Women of Worth

Mission Statement - Adopted, October 1988

The Mission of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League is to assist each woman of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.

Serve the lord with gladness…

-Psalm 100:2

Formerly known as The Pilgrim Evening Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Women of Worth was organized in November of 1989 and became a chartered member of the national LWML in May, 1990.  Our object is to provide Christian growth, fellowship and service within our church and community to the glory of Christ our Savior; and to promote the LWML as it focuses on:

  • Richer Spiritual Living,
  • Global Awareness for Ministry
  • Avenues for God-blessed Service

Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month beginning at 6:45 P.M. with fellowship and a light supper.  The program begins at 7:00.  Childcare is provided if needed.  We have several events that are not on our regular meeting day or are at a different time; please check the weekly bulletins and Pilgrim’s Progress each month.

The Love Offering and monies received are used to support member chosen mission projects.  During 2006, our funds will support our Seminarian, Chris Sutton, Ruth Maas, Teacher to China , and other member-designated projects.

Our MITES support the national LWML and Texas District selected mission grants and are cheerfully given as you arrive.  National mission grants receive 25 % of our MITE offering and the remaining 75 % is sent to support the Texas District mission grants.  National and Texas District grants are listed on the link for Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and on separate pages in this yearbook.

Membership is open to communicant members of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and other churches of the LCMS.
