They admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth…instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. Hebrews 11:13-16Welcome to Pilgrim Lutheran Church Youth Ministry. The scripture above is the theme for our youth ministry program. We feel that young people are constantly searching to find acceptance, peace, and meaning. They are searching to find out who they are and what life is all about, and what role God plays in all of this. We believe that knowing the crucified Christ answers these questions. This knowledge shows us that nothing in this world satisfies us, because we were created for, and long for, a better world – a heavenly one. We have programs for Junior High (6th through 8th grades) and Senior High (9th-12th grades). These groups meet consistently for games, retreats, fun, community, and for learning more about our God. We are constantly looking for new ways to learn, play, and serve together. Details about each of our groups are listed below: 9th through 12th Grades meet every Friday night in the youth room at Pilgrim Lutheran School for Bible Study, Games, and Community Time from 6:30-10:00. We also use this time to occasionally go “off-campus” for different fun activities like bowling, laser tag, etc. Over the course of the year we will also go on several retreats and trips, seek out service and fundraising opportunities, and have various special events and lock-ins. Junior High Youth meet for special events like dances, lock-ins, and retreats.
