|
| | | Something to Think About- This Sunday we start having morning worship in the gym and evening worship in the parish hall; while the church sanctuary is under construction. Everything has now been moved out of the church. Many people have spent countless hours working on making our worship during the relocation, the best possible experience. I want to thank all the people who came out for the work days and everyone who is helping on Sunday morning. More volunteers are gladly needed. What a blessing when everyone works hard together.

| CEF Centennial Remember... Rejoice... Renew... We remember...The Texas District Church Extension Fund has served congregations for more than a century, sharing its founding with that of the Texas District LCMS.
We rejoice... When God brings together His people in a common cause, miraculous things can happen, as they did in 1906, when God brought together a small group of clergy and laymen who conceived a plan for financing new mission plantings through affordable loans and the ministry of Church Extension was born. Over ensuring decades, CEF has helped congregations buy land, and build, expand, renovate, and equip churches and schools across the Texas District LCMS.
We renew... CEF continues to offer Lutherans a safe haven for their invested dollars in a growing variety of savings plans and services. We remember...we rejoice... we renew our commitment to reach the lost, disciple the saved, and care for people. Check out the display in the gathering area (narthex) of the church for latest rates. For more information, call Gary Long (Congregational Representative) at (713) 729-8207 or email me at

Humor While walking along the pavement in front of his church, our minister heard the intoning of a prayer that nearly made his collar wilt. Apparently, his 5-year-old son and his playmates had found a dead robin. Feeling that proper burial should be performed, they had secured a small box and cotton wadding, then dug a hole and made ready for the disposal of the deceased. The minister's son was chosen to say the appropriate prayers and with sonorous dignity intoned his version of what he thought his father always said: 'Glory be unto the Faaather, and unto the Sonnn, and into the hole he goooes.'
